Located in the heart of Zurich's old town, Restaurant Zum Königstuhl is the perfect place to relax and enjoy traditional Swiss cuisine in a laid-back atmosphere after a long day of exploring the nearby boutiques and shops. The restaurant has 300 indoor seats. We serve traditional Swiss dishes, prepared according to classic recipes or with our own special touch.
Tradition Meets Modernity
In our restaurant, we combine tradition and modernity. Our menu is based on recipes that our great-grandparents knew and loved. Through modern yet authentic preparation, we give these dishes that special something without altering their traditional essence.
When selecting ingredients, we prioritize not only the highest quality but also regional sourcing. Using regional and seasonal products is essential for properly preparing these classic dishes. In addition, this allows us to support farmers and vendors in the Zurich area and share a piece of Swiss tradition with our guests through our cuisine.
A House with History and Character
Our premises exude a special warmth and look back on a long history in Zurich. Once the residence of Zurich Mayor Rudolf Stüssi, the Zum Königstuhl restaurant at Stüssihofstatt 3 became the Zunfthaus zur Schneidern in 1613. The Zum Königstuhl owes its name to the royal visits that took place over the years.
Although much of the building has been restored over the years, the bay window remains true to its original form. Our dining room is decorated with thoughtful details, and our cozy outdoor area invites you to linger on summer days.
Events & Celebrations in the Historic Guild hall
A special highlight is the Guild Hall, which can accommodate up to 150 people. As a popular event venue in Zurich, you can book this historic hall for weddings, birthdays, company anniversaries, or other occasions.
